Interview with Natty
How do you feel the music industry has changed over the years?I think the music Industry has become more accessible to a vaster amount of people, due to Internet and advancements in technology, I mean, you can produce, edit, mix and upload your song in a day if you wish to. Its like everything in life, it’s a fast food society. Everything’s just got a whole leap faster. What do you say to the young people who listen to your material?Listen with an open mind and treat my music like a diary. It’s a journal of my thoughts and things I do in my life. I’m a very different person now to what I was even 2 years ago, let alone 15 years ago. On a personal level music to me is an expression and at times, especially with the earlier stuff, I had a lot of anger. Nowadays my style and topics, I would say have mellowed somewhat. I guess that’s age and having a nephew now. How do you find teaching? It’s the perfect outlet for me; I get to work the most amazing and remarkable young people who never cease to amaze me, with their talents and abilities. I try not to preach but in my lifetime I’ve seen and done a lot, so I try to put across and share my life experiences to the best of my ability. I want young people to realise how talented and intelligent they are. I believe everyone has a gift and a talent and as adults it’s our responsibility to unlock, nurture and provide a platform for that talent. How do you find the state of the World? In short your world is exactly that, your world for every action there is a reaction. I try to live by this now and think before I speak. The World is a beautiful place with beautiful people but sadly every thing in life has to have balance so there’s also a lot of torment and pain that comes with this world. I’d say appreciate and be thankful. Some people have it really hard. |
